A possible solution for Condor crashes?

I was just reading this thread on the GliderRacing.com forum which suggest some Condor crash problems could be caused by flying offline with ghosts. He suggest deleting LastTrack.ftr before starting Condor. He was specifically talking about these kind of errors though:

I tried to get in over and over, got “refresh gui” and then “floating point division by zero

Delete LastTrack.ftr, start Condor… Mostly occurs when u trying smthg in offline and ghosts? or?

  1. This problem happened with me when i created a deliberately invalid Flight track (.ftr) while testing a program in condor. First I moved all the flightracks out into another folder. Condor then worked ok . So I put the invalid flight track back and the error recurred. It seems reasonable that LastTrack.ftr is a prime candidate to get corrupted if for instance your computer crashes just as you finish your task. Quick fix is move all your flight tracks somewhere else. then later put back the ones you really need. if the error recurs it will be the last ftr you put back . Cheers 🙂

    1. Hi Peter,

Thanks for finding my blog and bothering to leave a comment! I sort of gave up with Condor since Christmas of 2013. I tried a few times since then but had freeze ups and got turned off. When I get home next year, I’ll give your suggestion a try.
