The end of last week I decided to give Evernote a try. I came across it when doing some research for a note taking app for my sister Gracie to use on her Mac. I was pretty excited about OneNote at the time so I first wanted to know if she could use it on her Mac. I found Evernote and Circus Ponies NoteBook and installed the former on my PC to give it a try. NoteBook is a Mac only application.
So Evernote has been sitting on my computer since last spring. Someone in IT here at UVM mentioned that he had switched from OneNote to Evernote and that was enough for me to make the decision to give it a try.
I find it much easier to use than OneNote, especially in the sharing department. It is much easier to share notes between my work PC, my home PC and my iPod. I can also snap a photo with my iPod and have it go directly to a note.
The best thing was when I discovered that I could import my OneNote notes a notebook at a time. Yesterday I attempted to find a way to import my Google Doc notes. There is a way to do that with Google Notes but not for Google Docs. However if you copy and paste from Google Docs documents to Evernote notes, the results are excellent!
