I just purchased a paid addition of DynDNS. I’m not certain what the advantages of this are except for support and Host Update Logs.

Here is some information about loopback connections . A loopback connection allows you to browse to your websites URL without having to type in the local ip or localhost. This is nothing new for me except that I have rarely employed this method on windows–but frequently on Unix. It involves mapping the DNS name to a local IP in the hosts file which, in windows, is located at c:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\Hosts.
